Beyond The Diag - March 2026

The madness of March is finally here, with the beginning of the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments. Many of Michigan’s other teams are looking in good form.

St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) and the days around it are often a time when many in our community make plans to socialize and have fun. For many years, Beyond The Diag has worked with campus partners, including the Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) and Wolverine Wellness, to offer activities to provide some fun, alcohol-free engagement options and reduce the risk of harm.

There are lots of activities taking place in March from the Center for Campus Involvement (CCI). Take a look at the details and plan your schedule!

If you loved watching the ice skating during the winter olympics and you’re sad that it’s over - don’t worry! You can come and watch the university’s Figure Skating Club in action at this year’s spring show.

As winter starts to wind down, March marks a seasonal shift with longer days and the start of Daylight Saving Time. With these shifts, this time of year can also be an opportunity to pause, reflect, and set intentions for the remainder of the semester.

The University of Michigan’s Expect Respect program exists to promote a campus culture rooted in care, inclusion, and accountability. At its core, that work is about creating the conditions where hope can thrive, not just as a feeling, but as a practice.

On February 2, 2026, the Ann Arbor City Council amended Section 8:532 of the City of Ann Arbor’s Housing Code. Section 8:532 was amended to establish rules and regulations for the transparency of rental fees in Ann Arbor.

As we head towards the end of the semester, things can get pretty hectic with finals, summer job hunting, and making plans for next year. It’s a busy season, but it’s also a time to look ahead with hope and set yourself up for a strong start.

Hoping for Spring? With spring comes the end of the semester and for many students, moving out of their housing and returning home.

DPSS is recruiting members for our 2026/2027 Student Advisory Board. Student Advisory Boards are an important way for students to have their voices heard, give input to strategic priorities and provide input and feedback on decision-making.

Wolverines Walk for Reproductive Justice 5K is taking place on April 11th, starting at 9:30am at The Grove on North Campus.

We're celebrating and honoring LGBTQIA2S+ graduates and allies of all genders and sexualities at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Students of all degree programs and levels can nominate a group or graduating student for one of Spectrum Center's signature annual awards.
