Lavender Graduation Registration and Spectrum Center Award Nominations

Graduating students: Register as a Lavender Graduate! We're celebrating and honoring LGBTQIA2S+ graduates and allies of all genders and sexualities at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Students who have graduated or will graduate from August 2025 through December 2026 are eligible to participate, but registration is required! Register by March 30 to get a Lavender cord, rainbow tassel, and special swag.

 

All students: Has someone inspired you with their work? Made a real difference in a student community or across campus? Students of all degree programs and levels can nominate a group or graduating student for one of Spectrum Center's signature annual awards. Finding CommonGround, Creating Our Own Hope

You might know CommonGround for its signature peer-led workshops. Through them, you can practice dialogic skills and collaborative problem-solving, while gaining tools that are especially important in an increasingly polarized world. 

 

For the peer facilitators, CommonGround offers even deeper training in understanding and managing group dynamics, finding shared interests and experiences, and overcoming gridlocks to make an impact.

 

“The work has challenged me to listen more intentionally, speak more thoughtfully, and show up with deeper integrity,” a recent CommonGround facilitator reflected. “It has given me the tools and the courage to advocate, disrupt, and reimagine. And that, to me, is transformative education at its best.”
