Commencement Activities:

The University of Michigan is hosting several commencement activities for students who graduated December 2021 and who are graduating April 2022 and August 2022. To find information about your school's specific graduation information, check out the commencement calendar here. 

Several University identity-based organizations also host their own individual graduation ceremonies. Take a look at the following to see if any of these ceremonies apply to you!

Free Graduation Cords for Transfer Students

The Committee Advocating for Transfer, Nontraditional, and International Students (CATNIS) is providing free graduation cords to transfer students who are graduating in the winter, spring, or summer semesters. The cords are free and will be distributed on Wednesday, April 13th, from 5-6pm in the LSA Student Government Office. 

Moving out, and leaving town - all you need to know

Firstly, congratulations for making it to the end of the semester! As you begin to think about your summer plans, what are you doing with everything that won’t fit in your suitcases, as you leave campus? Once the packing process begins, many students realize that they’re leaving with A LOT more stuff than they brought to school! It can be difficult (if not impossible) to bring everything back home just for them to stay in boxes for the whole summer. Ann Arbor has a wide selection of safe, inexpensive self-storage units that will safeguard your belongings for the summer.

 

Self-care tips during finals

Ahhhhh, spring. The flowers are blooming, we’re swapping our boots for sneakers and sandals, people are hammocking everywhere…and finals are upon us. For many of us, this time of year is bittersweet; the weather is beginning to improve and thinking about the future is exciting, but finals can become a cloud hanging over the springtime positivity. It’s not all bad though, and here are a few top tips to help you take care of yourself during these vital last few weeks:

After a winter that feels neverending, spring is such an exciting time! We are all ready for warmer weather and sunny skies but unfortunately, springtime often brings more rain. But the weather doesn’t have to dampen your spirits, especially during finals time. Here are a list of ways that you can have fun when the weather forecast is less than ideal:

 

SAPAC Awareness

SAPAC is the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan, and April is SAPAC Awareness Month. SAPAC’s office space is located on the fourth floor of the Michigan Union and is open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. You can email to schedule an appointment, and there is also a 24-hour crisis line - 734-936-3333.

CSG Airbus

The University of Michigan’s Central Student Government provides a transit service called Airbus that takes students between Ann Arbor and Detroit Metro airport before and after breaks. Airbus operates during all official university breaks, with many available dates and times making it flexible and easy to fit into most schedules.
