Michigan Dining - new menu icons

The new semester has arrived! Michigan Dining has collaborated with MHealthy and an on-campus carbon impact research team to bring two new icons to our dining hall and retail menu boards. These two icons are connected to your food's carbon footprint and help you pick foods that support basic nutrition.

Native American Heritage Month

The Native American Heritage Month committee and MESA are excited to host a variety of events throughout the month of November that honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Native American people. The lineup of events commenced on November 1st with “She’s Gone Missing: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Heather Bruegl.” The focus of this event was on learning more about the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in the United States, why these crimes go unreported, and what we can do to make sure that we keep women safe moving forward.

Construction of new CCRB and temporary domed facility

The Central Campus Recreational Building (CCRB) is closing on December 9 at 9pm, and in January 2023, the demolition of the current building and construction of the new CCRB will commence. The new facility is expected to be ready Fall 2025 and will be built on the same site as the current CCRB. In this new 200,000-square-foot recreational facility, there will be more offerings beyond what was originally found at the current CCRB for students and members, including climbing and bouldering walls, a turf court, cycling studio, and more.

Office of Student Conflict Resolution

The Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR) is a free service available to all students (undergraduate & graduate) who may be experiencing conflict. OSCR offers a variety of services around conflict resolution including 1:1 consultations, conflict coaching, facilitated dialogues, shuttle negotiation, and formal conflict resolution. Common conflicts we help with can include  roommates, student organizations, classroom/lab dynamics, faculty/staff, and/or a conflict with a community member. OSCR supports students navigating conflicts.

Trans Day of Remembrance

In partnership with the LGBT centers on UM Dearborn and UM Flint campuses, Spectrum Center will be hosting a Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) observance, on Thursday, November 17.
