Expect Respect

Hello Wolverines!

This school year has obviously been a lot different than years past. We at Expect Respect want to thank you for your efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

With March here, the celebration of March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day will begin taking place soon. Unfortunately, without proper precautions, these celebrations can turn into super spreader events

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we are sharing what showing respect might look like for our campus community during a pandemic:

  • Staying in and getting comfy! Take a look at the Happening@Michigan website for ideas and events taking place every day. It will give you details on events taking place in-person, as well as events that you can connect with from the comfort of your own home!

  • Following the Wolverine Culture of Care, the commitment to keeping the U-M community as healthy and safe as possible.

  • Washing your hands frequently

  • If you must be on-campus, make sure you are complying with CSTP testing requirements

Whether you plan to Stay in the Blue or go a little green on St. Patrick’s Day, keep these things in mind and find a way to celebrate in a safe, healthy, and fun way for all.

If you must go out, here are some safe practices:

  • Wear a mask (over the nose and mouth) when with folks outside of your household

  • Avoid large gatherings. We all want to celebrate; it’s just not the time to do it in-person.

  • Limit your travel out of the area. The COVID-19 variant is in Washtenaw County, and like you, we want to keep everyone as safe as possible.

With all these events on the horizon, we want you to Stay in the Blue and find new creative, and safe ways and celebrate. We all want to get back to normal; for us to do so, we need our Wolverines to work together and show respect for each other. Go Blue!
