Things to do in Ann Arbor during Fall

As the leaves on the trees transform into vibrant colors of red, orange, and gold, and the air becomes crisp, fall has begun in Ann Arbor. Even though this fall might be a little different there are still a ton of fun things to do around Ann Arbor to get into the fall spirit!

Ann Arbor is known for its trees in the fall, hence one of the best things to do is to go for a walk in Nichols Arboretum, Bandemer Park, or Gallup Park! All of these are located right on campus so it is easy to go for a nice, scenic walk. Since fall is also midterm season, you can sit in the Diag or Law Quad and be surrounded by the warm, colorful trees while studying.

It’s not fall without going to a cider mill or orchard. Located slightly off campus, Wiard's Orchard is one of the best orchards around. Wiard's has pumpkin patches, apple orchards, a hayride, a petting farm, and anything else you can think of fall-related. This is a perfect place to pick up a pumpkin to carve! If you are in the mood for some cider, Dexter Cider Mill is the perfect place for you. This cider mill specializes in apple cider slushies and their homemade doughnuts! Yum!

If you are unable to drive off campus, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is another great option to pick up some local produce and even a pumpkin! The farmers market also features many other local vendors, some of who are cider mills, so you are able to get fresh cider and doughnuts without traveling off campus! While you are in Kerrytown, you can visit any one of the local coffee shops including Zingerman's Next Door, Sweetwaters or Comet Coffee.
