Thefts from Vehicles

Our partners at DPSS and AAPD have advised that there has been a recent increase in the number of Larceny From Autos (LFAs), otherwise known as thefts from vehicles. These incidents appear to be concentrated in neighborhoods with larger student populations. The majority of incidents occur at night, and involve vehicles that were left unlocked.

If you own a vehicle, please follow the steps below to reduce the risk of being a victim of this crime:

  1. Ensure your vehicle is locked and secured, with windows fully rolled up. Always remove all keys and key fobs.

  2. Do not leave firearms or other weapons in your vehicle

  3. Do not leave electronics, jewelry or other valuables in your vehicle

  4. If possible, park your vehicle in a visible, well-lit area.

  5. Report any suspicious behavior immediately

Take care, and stay safe!
