Saving energy and staying warm

Winter is near and it’s starting to get chilly! This may mean you have started to increase your thermostat temperatures to keep your space nice and warm. Did you know that by decreasing your thermostat by one degree, you not only save money on your heating bill, you are also sustainably saving energy?

Another great way to warm your house without increasing the thermostat temperature is by insulating your windows! If you are interested in free insulation kits to keep warm, save energy, and reduce your bill, come check out the tabling event in the Michigan Union on Thursday, November 18th from 1:30-3:30pm. If you are interested in living sustainably or adopting more sustainable practices, check out University of Michigan's Planet Blue and look into our Planet Blue Student Leaders too! If you are unable to attend the event, but are still interested in how to insulate windows, check out Home Depot’s Guide to Insulation during Winter.
