We would like to make you aware of an important change in next year’s academic calendar (2023-24). Provost McCauley recently announced that the Winter 2024 term will now begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 and Commencement will now take place May 3-5, 2024. We know that many landlords have their leases run at least through the end of May (if not July or August), but the academic calendar adjustments may impact students whose leases are due to end at the end of April 2024.
We would encourage you to be in communication with your property manager if you believe that you may need an additional week or two at the end of your lease, due to the change to the 2023-2024 academic calendar. A similar message was sent to property managers who are part of the Beyond The Diag program, asking them to be considerate and flexible regarding this change and the potential impact it may have on lease end dates.
