As winter continues and the semester settles into its rhythm, February can bring a mix of emotions. While routines feel more familiar, the colder days, less sunlight, and academic demands can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected or isolated. At the same time, February offers opportunities for reflection, connection, and care through the fresh semester, student organizations, and friendly staff.
Wolverine Wellness is here to remind you that you belong — on this campus, in this community, and exactly as you are.
Belonging is a vital part of well-being. It’s the feeling of being seen, valued, heard, and supported. Whether that comes from friendships, shared experiences, or simply knowing there are people and resources here for you. When we feel a sense of belonging, we’re better able to navigate stress, build resilience, and care for ourselves and others.
One way to strengthen your sense of belonging is by focusing on the social dimension of well-being. The social dimension focuses on cultivating connections to create a feeling of belonging. You can do this through building relationships and community. Study with a friend or join an organization. A sense of belonging comes from small, consistent interactions. Building supportive social relationships can help make campus feel more like home.
As you move through February, we hope you find moments of connection, comfort, and community. Taking care of yourself is not selfish or something you have to do alone. Remember, we’re here to help support you, offer guidance through wellness coaching, and help you find tools that work for you.
You can learn more about the 8 dimensions of well-being and/or make an appointment for wellness coaching on the Wolverine Wellness or Well-being Collective websites.
You belong here. Stay connected, stay well, and take good care of yourself this February.
