As the temperatures drop and the days get shorter, Michigan Recreation is here to bring a little more warmth into your winter. This month, we’re celebrating all the ways our community heats up the season through movement, connection, and the energy you bring to our spaces.
Step inside the IMSB, NCRB, or Palmer Field Temporary Facility and you’ll feel it instantly: the welcome blast of heat after a cold walk across campus, the energy of a pickup game warming the court, and the steady rhythm of your winter workout. Whether you’re lifting, training, stretching, or studying between finals, our facilities offer a warm place to recharge, reset, and take care of yourself.
Our Group-X classes bring the heat too (literally)! From cycling to strength to yoga, each session warms you from the inside out while surrounding you with the encouragement, energy, and positive vibes of fellow Wolverines. It’s movement, community, and warmth - all in one place.
Intramural Sports keep the spark alive throughout December, reminding us that competition, teamwork, and play are some of the best ways to stay active all winter long. Every high-five, every laugh, every game-winning moment adds to the warmth that defines our Rec community.
Behind it all are our incredible student employees: the friendly faces greeting you at the front desk, officiating IM games, teaching Group-X classes, and keeping our facilities running smoothly. Their dedication makes our spaces feel welcoming and warm, no matter the weather. If you’re looking for a supportive community, flexible hours, and a chance to help keep campus warm all year long, we encourage you to join our Michigan Recreation staff. There’s a place here for you!
This December, we’re here to help you stay active, grounded, and connected through the winter season.
Stay warm, stay active, and Go Blue!
