Stay in the Boo - Stay in the Blue!

Hey Ghouls, Goblins, Pumpkins, Elves, and Wolverines!

Now that it's getting closer November and December, it’s important to start planning ahead. This period features several national or religious holidays, which can often be times of heightened stress, so it’s important to take care of your health and well-being as well. This time of year can feel like there are more opportunities to partake in alcohol and other substances like cannabis. Having a plan to make sure you feel empowered to say “no” and not over-consume can sometimes feel easier said than done. Stay in the Blue, Clear30, and Wolverine Wellness can help!

Stay in the Blue is both a campaign and a free app designed for students by students to help you get what you want from drinking without the stuff you don’t want – if you choose to drink. When you download the app, you can seamlessly track your drinks and your blood alcohol content (BAC). You can also use it to plan ahead when you know you’re going to be drinking, so you know how much you can have during your drinking period and keep your BAC under 0.06 – the threshold at which most U-M students share that they have more fun and less drama. We refer to this range as “the Blue.” It’s worth noting that non-drinkers are always in the Blue!

Think of Clear30 as similar to Stay in the Blue, but it focuses on cannabis instead of alcohol. Clear30 is an app designed to help students reflect on their relationship with cannabis. It can also help you set and work toward personalized goals for yourself around cannabis use and well-being, like managing cravings, using more mindfully, or taking a break from using. As a U-M student, you have free access to the app when you sign up using your UMID login.
