The Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) welcomes you all to the new Fall semester! We are also encouraging you to explore the different ways in which you can help yourselves, and potentially help others, and develop a sense of community this year.
Our Property Registration system allows you to register anything your valuables and personal property in a secure database, by attaching your contact information to your item’s serial number. If that item is ever recovered after being lost or stolen, DPSS can get your property back to you faster. This is especially important for any bikes or scooters on campus! In addition, keep your bikes or scooters safe by making sure you have the right kind of lock. Cable locks are able to be defeated by a pair of bolt cutters, making it an easy opportunity for any potential thieves. Instead, DPSS recommends you use a steel U-Lock. These locks are far more difficult to defeat, requiring the use of power tools, which draws attention to the act.
Join the DPSS Student Advisory Board! Be one of many diverse voices that come together to create meaningful conversation about campus safety concerns, and provide feedback on ways to remedy those concerns together. Interested applicants should visit the DPSS webpage for more information.
No matter where exploring takes you on campus, be safe, stay informed, and contact us when you need us!
