The annual Big Heart Blood Battle has begun. This year’s competition against MSU, Penn State, and Wisconsin runs until February 28. Sign up for the Blood Battle today to lower the national blood shortage and beat our Big Ten neighbors.
Why should I donate?
- Each blood donation can impact up to three lives.
- Donors receive a free Big Heart shirt and Washtenaw Dairy coupon while supplies last, as well as the opportunity to join a drawing for prizes from local businesses.
- Those who donate between January 1 and January 26 are automatically entered in a raffle to win a trip to Super Bowl LIX.
- Donors between January 27 and February 28 receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice.
How do I donate?
- Schedule an appointment. Make sure to enter "goblue" as the sponsor code.
- Drive locations and dates are listed below and are available on the Blood Battle site for reference.
- Before donating, review eligibility requirements and complete your Rapid Pass the day of your appointment to save time.
- In 2023, the FDA updated their eligibility guidelines on blood donation (replacing a prior policy that banned donors based on their sexual orientation) with an individualized risk assessment for all donors. - Please eat iron-rich foods and drink plenty of water before you donate blood so that you are healthy on the day of your donation.
