We are excited to invite everyone to Soul Food Sundays, which is returning every Sunday during the month of February in celebration of Black History Month. The event is 3:00-5:00pm, and will include delicious food, great music, and good company. All are welcome to attend, and no advance booking or RSVP is needed, so be sure to stop by each week and hang out with us.
Trotter Multicultural Center is excited to announce that we are sourcing photo subjects and artistic submissions for the Framing Our Future initiative. This project includes a photo installation in the Multipurpose Rooms and lookbooks that feature expanded photo selections and personal submissions from our beloved community.
While the past and present are currently embodied in our building—in Sankofa Lounge and on the “See You @ TMC” wall respectively—this project will connect the past, present, and future by inviting our community to to envision a future where the values and ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion are fully realized.
Framing Our Future will feature creative expression to explore what an equitable future, both on and off U-M’s campus, looks like. Through the lenses of joy, hope, healing, and equity, this initiative will center voices and perspectives and allow us to realize our dreams and aspirations for our collective future. We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to join us in Framing Our Future!
We hope you will participate in a photo session or submit your personal work for this initiative. Remember, you are the legacy that carries us forward.
