DPSS scam advice

As we move into August and the beginning of football season we are expecting to see an uptick in ticket scam activity. DPSS has identified an increase in a particular type of scam over the past year. Scammers are asking students to prove they are a student by sending a selfie holding their MCard. They then use this photo to scam many others. Never share your MCard online. A photo of someone holding an MCard does not prove identity. Please refer to this information about other scams targeting students and how you can avoid them.

Additionally, please register cell phones, laptops, bikes and scooters. Anything with a serial number can be registered for FREE on the DPSS website. Registration helps DPSS return found and recovered property and proves ownership.
