Native American Heritage Month

nahm

The Native American Heritage Month committee and MESA are excited to host a variety of events throughout the month of November that honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Native American people. The lineup of events commenced on November 1st with “She’s Gone Missing: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Heather Bruegl.” The focus of this event was on learning more about the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in the United States, why these crimes go unreported, and what we can do to make sure that we keep women safe moving forward.

Other events include a basket weaving workshop on November 13th, and an anti-racism teach-in happening via zoom on November 7th. There will also be afternoon Carillon performances throughout the month at the Burton Memorial Tower on Central Campus and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Tower on North Campus. There is something for everyone to learn from and enjoy in the lineup of events for Native American History Month. Click here to learn more about the Native American History Month events on campus!
