Winter Break Orange Bowl & Sports Highlights

Well Wolverines, despite the loss, our season is nothing to be ashamed of. The Michigan Football team finished the season with a 10-3 overall record, and a 7-2 record in the Big Ten, the best since 2006. Stepping onto the field December 30th in Miami for the Capital One Orange Bowl, the odds were stacked against Florida State with Michigan ranked 6 and Florida State ranked at 11. But, with Jabrill Peppers out due to a hamstring injury and Jake Butt tearing his ACL early in the second quarter, the Wolverines could not pull through to win. Without these two key players, Michigan’s defense couldn’t stop the Seminoles.

The Wolverines were set for a victory in the fourth quarter with a score of 30-27 with 1:57 remaining. Without key player, Jabrill Peppers, only seconds later there was a Florida State touchdown bringing the score to 33-30. A thrilling, but unfortunate end, the Wolverines blocked the extra point and Josh Metellus returned it for a safety, which then gave Michigan the chance to win with a field goal, bringing the score to 33-32 Florida State. Unfortunately, the Wolverines could not get the ball into field goal range with a final interception by Florida State to seal their victory by 1 point.

With that, do not forget fellow Wolverines,
