Trivia for Groceries

On Friday, December 3rd at 7pm, Beyond the Diag will be hosting a Trivia Event in partnership with Maize and Blue Cupboard, the university’s free food pantry.

Do you have an absurd amount of information about the University of Michigan? Or Ann Arbor? Come test your knowledge at Beyond the Diag’s Trivia event with Maize and Blue Cupboard. At our event, play to win a bag of free groceries courtesy of Maize and Blue Cupboard! The event takes place in the Michigan Room (2nd floor) of the Michigan League.

CSG Airbus

The Central Student Government (CSG) provides a service to take students to and from the Detroit airport for certain breaks. The service runs between Ann Arbor and Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) during high-traffic times before and after the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks.

This year, for the Thanksgiving break, CSG is planning to take students to the airport on Monday, November 22 and Tuesday, November 23. Return trips from the airport will occur on Sunday, November 28. Pick up points at DTW are North and McNamara Terminals.

Fall Experiences survey

On Sunday, November 21, Student Life  will send the Fall Experiences survey to all undergraduate students and any graduate/professional students that have engaged with Student Life experiences since the beginning of the academic year. The survey invitation email subject line will be ‘Complete the Fall Experiences Study for a chance to receive a $500 Visa gift card' and the message will come from U-M Student Life Research. Each student will receive a unique link to the survey and should not share their link with others.

Saving energy and staying warm

Winter is near and it’s starting to get chilly! This may mean you have started to increase your thermostat temperatures to keep your space nice and warm. Did you know that by decreasing your thermostat by one degree, you not only save money on your heating bill, you are also sustainably saving energy?

Staying in Ann Arbor for the holidays?

While many students will travel to be with friends and family during the holiday season, we know that some students will be staying in Ann Arbor. This may be because of school work, employment, cost/distance of travel, or because Ann Arbor is their permanent home.

Preparing for your holiday break

Hey Wolverines! Thanksgiving Break is just around the corner, so as you prepare to leave town for the holiday, make sure you follow these steps:

DPSS Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness

In order to promote a safe environment for all the students, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan it is important that we all remind ourselves of the university's guidelines surrounding actions to take in case of an emergency. COVID circumstances have caused some changes to building access so it is crucial that people are proactive about knowing the emergency protocols in the buildings they work and/or study within. Here are some tips for specific types of emergencies.

U-M Sustainability and Farm Stand

From now through the end of October, pop over to the U-M FarmStand on Thursdays from noon-3pm outside of the U-M Art Museum on State Street. Students receive a 30% discount on local produce grown by other students. The U-M Sustainable Food Program (UMSFP) and the Campus Farm sustain this project in hopes that students will learn about food systems, receive opportunities for community engagement, and have more access to locally grown food. All proceeds from the Farm Stand go towards funding student-led sustainable food initiatives at U-M through UMSFP's mini-grants for food justice program.
