Your Friendly Neighborhood... Beyond the Diag Staff Members!

Gaby Vasquez: Program Assistant - Marketing and Communications

How did you get involved with Beyond the Diag?

  • One of my friends worked in the Dean of Students Office and told me about the program when I moved off campus sophomore year.  I applied and worked as a Neighborhood Ambassador for the South University neighborhood, since I wanted to find a way to be more involved.

What does your current role as Program Assistant entail?

  • As of this semester, I’m in charge of all the marketing for the program, and I work with the social media team to create content and campaigns.  I create diag boards and other promotional materials, and I make sure we have a brand image that’s consistent throughout the whole program

What is your favorite part of working with Beyond the Diag?

  • I like getting to work with students in a similar situation as me (living off campus) and being able to give resources about navigating the process—it’s been really rewarding.

Jake Silver: Neighborhood Ambassador - South University

How did you get involved with Beyond the Diag?

  • I first heard about it my freshman year (last year when I was living in Markley).  The res hall director promoted the opportunity, and it seemed like a good chance to get involved.

What does your role entail?

  • As Neighborhood Ambassador, it’s my job to be a resource to the South University and Oxbridge community to provide safety resources, contribute to the monthly newsletter, and plan events that promote community building.

What is your favorite part of working with Beyond the Diag?

  • I love working with the other Neighborhood Ambassadors; it’s awesome to get to know people from different parts of campus and meet people with different experiences and apply that to make our communities better.
