Stay True, Go Blue!

Football Saturdays have been a long tradition here at the University of Michigan; this fall has already been filled with maize, blue, and lots of khaki! Coach Harbaugh has successfully led the football team to nine wins this season with only one unfortunate loss. The month of November still holds the opportunity for the team to gain victories against Indiana and the much anticipated Ohio State over the long weekend break.

Michigan will host Indiana on Saturday, November 19th and will travel to Ohio State on Saturday, November 26th. The Ohio State matchup will bring the season to a close, and hopefully with a victory! However, win or lose it is important for us all as Wolverines to uphold the strong sportsmanship and integrity of the University of Michigan. Fans from most any rivaling university are guaranteed to be loud, rowdy, and ready to defend their team until the end with their words and actions, therefore, we as Michigan students and fans need to remember that we are the Leaders and Best and we should lead by example, whether or not we are at our house.

If you plan on spending either football Saturday at Michigan or Ohio, these tips will help you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Game and Stadium Reminders for Michigan vs. Indiana

Game and Stadium Reminders for Ohio State vs. Michigan:

  • Ohio State kickoff is at 12:00pm (Nov. 26)

  • Ohio Stadium Gameday Policies

  • Ohio Stadium: guests with medical or child care needs should enter through the Steinbrenner Band Center entrance (between Gate 10 & 12) or at the Press Entrance (between the Huntington Club and Gate 23) to have their items inspected.

  • Ohio Stadium gates open two hours prior to kickoff

Stay in the Blue, home and away:

  • Download the Stay in the Blue app

  • Track your drinks and use the app to estimate your blood alcohol concentration. BAC below .06 is in the BLUE.

  • Eat before and while drinking, especially foods high in fat and protein.

  • Alternate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks such as water

Last but not least, if you see something, say something!

The safety and security of all those who are attending both at home against Indiana and away at Ohio State, Wolverines, Hoosiers, and Buckeyes alike, is a primary concern for big game day weekends such as these. Game day safety is a top priority and us Wolverines have rocked it so far this season, tough loss last weekend and all! We want to convey the same message and have the same outcome during Indiana and Ohio State gamedays, (hopefully with two blowout wins though!).  Exhibiting good sportsmanlike behavior is essential to ensuring that football season is an enjoyable experience for all. Whether tuning in from your home television, watching from the student section, or cheering the team on in Columbus, don’t forget to stay true and GO BLUE!
