Did you have Aetna U-M Student Health Insurance during the 2018-19 academic year? If so, your insurance ended on 8-23-19, and you will need to enroll in the university’s new plan by September 30, 2019.
You don’t want to be without health insurance, so you can enroll in the new plan through Blue Care Network of Michigan. Luckily, if you purchase by September 30, coverage will be retroactive to August 24, 2019.If you don’t enroll by September 30, your next opportunity to enroll won’t be until December for coverage that begins January 1, 2020.
The university has notified the campus community of this change but we are still hearing from students and parents who are unaware.
