1. Potluck Party with Friends
If you are feeling the stress of exam season, your friends are probably feeling the same way! Why not invite them to a potluck party?
Here are some party tips:
Choose a theme for the party (ex. bbq) so your friends know what type of food to bring.
Make a signup form, including main dishes, sides, and desserts.
Send out your invite and enjoy a night filled with tasty food and friends!
2. Secret gift exchange
Want to exchange gifts and have some fun guessing your gift-giver? Try a secret gift swap! Simply get a group of friends together and assign each person someone to buy or make a gift for. To prevent any overspending, be sure to set a gift budget or make a rule that all presents must be homemade. Choose a week before the start of winter break and have each player provide a gift to their chosen recipient each day. On the final day, spend the evening together, give your final gifts and reveal who was giving gifts to whom over the course of the week. A gift exchange is the perfect way to enjoy the final moments of the semester among friends and take a breather from the hustle and bustle of finals season. Plan your gift exchange party now and add a little holiday spirit to your finals season!
3. Garden Visit
If you’ve been studying all morning, step outside and get some fresh air at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens conservatory. Admission to the gardens is free, and the sweet smells and lovely plants in the gardens will help you feel refreshed, revived, and ready to hit the books again. And the best part? The conservatory is indoors, so you can enjoy without worrying about the winter chill. If you are feeling festive, be sure to visit the holiday exhibit, “Small: A Big Look at Little”, which runs from November 30th until January 5th.
