DIY Holiday Decor

Is your dorm room, house, or apartment lacking holiday spirit? This easy paper snowflake decoration takes less than 10 minutes and is guaranteed to liven up any room!

Supplies you will need:

6 sheets of paper (8.5”x11”)

Scissors

Stapler

Directions:

  1. Fold the paper to make a square shape. There will be some paper left over on the bottom; use scissors to cut off the excess. Cut all six pages into a square. You can do the papers one by one, or stack multiple sheets to make the process quicker.

  2. Fold each paper square on a diagonal to create a triangle shape

  3. Cut three lines to the left and right of the center of the triangle paper. You should cut a total of six lines.

  4. Unfold the paper completely.

  5. Take the two inside line segments and fold them in so they touch. Staple the overlapping pieces. Repeat the process for the next line segments, alternating folding the line segments in forwards and backwards.

  6. Repeat these steps with all 6 pieces of paper.

  7. After all the pieces are stapled, line up all 6 stapled papers so that the ends touch in the center and they span out in a spherical shape.

  8. Staple the pieces of paper together so that they connect at the middle.

To spice up this craft, you can switch up plain white paper for a fun colored paper. Also, you could add glitter, sparkles, or paint to give your snowflake a unique touch. To display your snowflake, you can tie a string around the top and hang it up with some tape, nail, or push pin.
