Ann Arbor Bucket List for the U-M Student

Before we get started, be sure to check out the graduation checklist to make sure you’ve got everything arranged and ready to go before April 29th. You wouldn’t want any last minute surprises sneaking up on you! If you are not quite yet ready to graduate after this semester, make sure you are prepared for registration: sign up for an advising appointment, check out the course guide, find your registration date on Wolverine Access, and backpacking begins on March 22nd.

As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, be sure to check out the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market. When spring rolls in, so does a bunch of fresh new produce. It’s a must-do activity in town! The nicer weather also brings many people out to Nichols Arboretum – be sure that you’re one of them!

Another can’t-miss event this time of year is SpringFest! On April 14th join your peers on the Diag and North U. from 11a.m. to 5p.m. to hear live music and check out all of the venders and student organizations attending.

If you ask me, food is also a crucial part of the Ann Arbor experience. There are a few places that you have to try before you leave Ann Arbor. Really, you can’t claim to have lived in Ann Arbor for four years and never have tried Jolly Pumpkin’s truffle fries. Same goes for Frita Batidos – it’s really an Ann Arbor staple. Join the townies and get yourself a scoop of basil flavored ice cream at Blank Slate Creamery.

More than anything, just focus on having fun and doing what makes you happiest for your last few months in Ann Arbor! College is such a unique and exciting experience – take advantage of it! And on your way out of town, be sure to pick up some tasty Michigan goods at Cherry Republic.
