Safety Starts at Home

Here are some important safety precautions to help you feel safe and protect your home.

DO:

  • Secure sliding glass doors with a safety bar placed in the door track.
  • Maintain good lighting at all entrances, and keep porch lights on at night.
  • If you come home and find a door or window open, do not enter. Call the police immediately.
  • Ask for proper identification from repairmen and utility workers before letting them enter your home.

DON’T:

  • Hide spare keys in accessible places. Give them to trusted neighborhoods or friends if you leave for an extended period of time.
  • Never leave doors or windows open or unlocked when you’re not home. Always close and lock doors and windows before leaving your home.
